An Indian Summer 2020
April - August 2020
An Indian Summer (AIS) is South Asian Arts Festival established in 2010. The multi art form festival usually takes places in venues and public spaces across the city of Leicester, but in response in to the National UK lockdown in March the 2020 festival went online.
No Fixed Abode was brought in as Creative Producer and PR & Marketing Manager.
A team of two responded to delivered this brief.


What we did

Reimagine the existing AIS programme for online and ‘stay-at-home’ audiences; programming 30 + events over two weeks.

Develop and build new partnerships to create engaging online content including live performances, talks & discussions, exhibitions, international music commissions, films, and tutorials.

Event Manage the festival and its new online programme, including project managing a professional production agency and the delivery of content and assets.

Support on funding bids for additional content

Create and deliver a PR & marketing strategy, securing BBC Radio coverage and TIME OUT online promotion

Brief for and project manage an AIS 'brand refresh' including logos, web graphics, fonts and Social Media assets (www.indiansummer.org)

Enhance existing Social Media presence, including a paid advertising campaign

Develop and deliver a festival evaluation report Arts Council England and Leicester City Council
Highlights
Visioning and developing a new music commission with award-winning Bandish Projekt
Eight Classical Indian Musicians from the UK composed and recorded short ‘samples’ of their work and we’ve sent them to India, with lyrical accompaniment from musician and rapper Mr Shay and Artistic Director from Sitar Music Society, to be remixed by a multi-award winning electronic DJ and producer.
